AIPGMEE: All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination.

National Board of Examinations (NATBOARD) will be conducting the All India Post Graduate Entrance Examination. For Admission Under 50% Seats Quota In MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses In Medical & Dental Colleges.
There are also State Governments/Universities/Institutions voluntarily participating in the AIPGMEE 2017 who will be accepting AIPGMEE 2017 scores for admission to MD/MS/Diploma seats under their control.
According to NBE officials, last year a total of 74000 candidates took the post graduate medical entrance exam for admissions to as many as 5500 seats in 30 MD/MS and 24 Diploma programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be an Indian Citizen
  • A candidate, who holds MBBS degree from a recognized Medical College or a Foreign Medical Degree included in the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration from either the MCI or any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible to take this exam
  • Candidates who have studied/passed MBBS from the state of Jammu & Kashmir and Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh are not eligible for 50% All India Quota. However, the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to do MBBS from Medical Colleges in Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible to apply for admission
  • The candidates who have obtained MBBS degree from the Medical Colleges, which are not recognized by Medical Council of India, shall not be eligible for this exam
  • Candidate who, after passing the final qualifying exam (MBBS or the Foreign Medical Degree recognized by MCI), is undergoing 12month compulsory rotating internship/practical training and is likely to complete the same by 31st March 2017 can take up this exam. Candidate produces a certificate from the head of Institution that he/she will be completing internship by 31st March 2017.

    AIIMS PG Entrance Exam :

    All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) conducts PG Entrance examination twice a year for admission to 160 MD/MS and MDS seats in various streams out of which 150 are medical and 16 are dental seats. AIIMS (New Delhi) announces notification for MD/MS and MDS courses in months of January and July every year.
    AIIMS PG 2017 Eligibility:
    Important Highlights of AIIMS PG Eligibility Criteria are given below:
  • The candidate must possess a MBBS degree if he/she is seeking an admission to MD/MS or should possess a BDS degree if he/she is seeking admission to MDS from a university recognized by the Medical Council of India
  • The candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in MBBS or BDS if they belongs to general/OBC category or an aggregate of 50% marks if they belongs to SC/ST category
  • AIIMS PG 2017 Exam Pattern:

    AIIMS PG exam for July session will be a computer based test as per the syllabus prescribed by the examination authority.   • Duration: 3 Hours
  • Number of Questions: 200 Objective Type Questions

  • Duration: 90 Minutes
  • No. of questions: 90 Objective type questions

  • PGIMER Entrance Exam:

    Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh had conducted national level PGIMER entrance exam for admission to various postgraduate courses in MD/MS and MDS. PGIMER Chandigarh was conceived and planned in 1960 to provide state of art facilities to students in medical education and research. PGIMER conducted entrance exam for MD/MS course twice a year and for MDS once a year. The first session for MD/MS was in January and the second session was in July month. Students were admitted to PGIMER MD/MS or MDS course solely on the basis of All India merit list.

    Eligibility for MD/MS

  • Must have passed MBBS, or its equivalent qualification, from a University/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI)
  • Must have either completed, or due to complete, one year rotatory internship training on or before and December 31 for January 2015 session and June 30 for July 2015 session
  • Must be registered with Central /State Medical Registration Council
  • Eligibility for MDS -

  • Applicants must have degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) of Panjab University or any other University recognized by Dental Council of India
  • Candidates have either completed, or due to complete, compulsory rotatory internship training on or before June 30, 2014
  • Must be registered with Central /State Dental Registration Council
  • PGIMER Exam Pattern:

    PGIMER exam was pen and paper based test based on the syllabus as prescribed by the examination authority PGIMER. The PGIMER entrance exam was conducted at various centers at Chandigarh. Read important points of PGIMER Exam Pattern for MD/MS and MDS are given below:

    Exam Pattern of MD/MS:

  • The test duration was of 3 hours and conducted in a single section
  • PGIMER was pen and paper based exam
  • PGIMER exam had 250 Multiple Choices Questions (MCQ), with single correct response out of five response
  • The exam was conducted in English language
  • There were negative marking in PGIMER for incorrect response
  • Exam Pattern of MDS:

  • The test duration is 90 minutes and will be conducted in a single section
  • PGIMER will be pen and paper based exam
  • PGIMER exam will have 100 Multiple Choices Questions (MCQ), with single correct response out of four response
  • The exam will be conducted in English language
  • There will be no clinical/ practical examination.
  • DNB CET Entrance Exam:

    DNB CET stands for Diplomate National Board Centralized Entrance Test; it is a medical entrance test for admission in PG Courses of all NBE affiliated college. DNB CET is conducted twice in a year, all those applicant who wants PG admission in specialty courses can apply for it. DNB CET is a "Multiple Choice Exam" for 200 marks; it will be conducted online. Applicants are given choice for choosing their center and slot for appearing exam. Examination is conducted in January and July but a student can apply only once in examination, no second chance. It is PG-Level exam conducted at "All India Level" by NBE, New Delhi.

    DNB CET Exam Pattern

    DNB CET is "Computer-Based-Examination" conducted twice but an applicant can appear only once in a year. Examination is for 300 multiple choice questions where students are suppose to attain all the questions. Exam is conducted in 2 different sessions one in morning and other in after noon, student have choice either he can attend morning or afternoon (as filled in application form). No Negative Marking for DNB CET
